With the release of Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard, Lioncourt.com is starting a new series of short tips to help Voiceover users improve their Mac experience. Not all the tips will be specific to VoiceOver, and most tips will be applicable to both Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger and Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard. So, on to our first Mac-cessibility Quick Tip.
Are you looking for that VoiceOver command whose hot key you’ve forgot? Or maybe you are hunting for new VoiceOver commands hiding in Leopard, just waiting to be set free, but you don’t want to slog through documentation? In either Tiger or Leopard, press VO Keys-H twice to bring up a menu of all the currently available VoiceOver commands. The hot key for each command is listed beside its entry in the menu, sans the VO Key modifiers. For more help and information, try VO Keys-F7 to bring up the VoiceOver menu. (VO Keys = Control-Option.)
