As much as MacSpeech Dictate sounds like a wonderful product, I'm still curious how compatible it is with VoiceOver. Specifically, I'm curious how a VoiceOver user might get through the speech training process and what the behavior is like while actually dictating. I've written to the folks at MacSpeech, however, have really not gotten much of a reply excepting a suggestion that a headset should be used to prevent the Alex speech from being recognized. Frankly, this is very disappointing. There are many blind folks who undoubtedly would embrace a solid speech recognition solution, not to mention folks with multiple disabilities, blindness being one. My hope is that MacSpeech will find a way to test the product's compatibility with VoiceOver, or that at some point, a demo might be made available. Be all that as it may, the new MacSpeech Dictate sounds like a fantastic product and one which will possibly be accessible to VoiceOver users.
