New York Times's David Pogue Blogs about VoiceOver on the iPhone 3GS

15 July, 2009 @ 3:34 pm by Lioncourt

The New York Times’s David Pogue blogs about VoiceOver on the new iPhone 3GS in this entry. Like the overwhelming majority of blind and visually impaired iPhone 3GS users, he has found VoiceOver’s capabilities to be quite impressive, though he admits he’s no expert, as he’s not blind.

It is fantastic to see apple’s extraordinary efforts receiving mainstream attention and praise. With VoiceOver on the iPhone, they have opened a whole new universe to the blind and visually impaired, and the rest of the world is noticing, too.

    Hi all,

In Canada, a national news program ran a piece on iPhone accessibility with the 3GS. More mainstream exposure on TV.

I have actually decided to take the iPhone Plunge and am getting my iPhone tomorrow. I will report on my experiences with it on my blog. Thanks for keeping up the great coverage of the iPhone and other things Mac. The new Mac Book Pro is working out quite well.
