Apple.com Launches New Special Education Page

6 August, 2009 @ 9:55 am by Lioncourt

Apple.com launched a new page in its Education section devoted to Special Education and the accessibility features included in Mac OS X. The Special Education page offers many video sessions that introduce and demonstrate key accessibility technologies such as VoiceOver, Zoom, and others for a wide range of physical and cognitive disabilities.

This page should prove an invaluable resource for educational instructors wishing to become better informed about, and acquainted with, the variety of access solutions available to them in Mac OS X. It is yet another illustration of Apple’s tremendous commitment to the accessibility of their products to all.

i am glad that Apple has created this web page for special education. As often mentioned here on this web site, there is a lot of inertia and resistance to what is available via Mac OS X and the iPhone OS. A lot of it is just misinformation, lack of computer literacy, or not knowing an implementation path. This new web page should be helpful. I definitely will be passing along the URL to someone I know who works in special education.
