VMWare Announces VMWare Fusion 3 Coming 27/October/2009

6 October, 2009 @ 6:00 pm by Lioncourt

Today, VMWare announced the upcoming release of VMWare Fusion Version 3. The software allows Mac users to run other operating systems, most notably Windows, along side Mac OS X, and has traditionally been extremely accessible with VoiceOver, as well as compatible with Windows screen readers. We have no reason to doubt VMWare’s continuing commitment to the accessibility of this product, and shall report more on that front once the software is released.

VMware Fusion 3 provides more than 50 new features and enhancements, including optimization for Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. The new version will be available on 27/October/2009 for $79.99 USD, or $39.99 for existing VMWare Fusion users.

This is an interesting post about VMware accessibility. I was not aware that the product supported VoiceOver. I would like to hear more about the dividing line between VoiceOver and the Window screen readers from a user perspective.

Also, another question: does VMware support Zoom and white-on-black?
