Review – A First Look at the iPad – Pt. 4 – iBooks

22 April, 2010 @ 4:12 pm by Lioncourt

In the fourth installment of our in depth examination of the iPad and its accessibility, we take a tour through the iBooks reader and store. By far, we’ve received the most questions regarding this feature of the iPad, and we’ve done our best to answer all your questions.

iBooks will be available for other iPhone OS devices later this summer.

Nice. Personally though, I’ll be waiting for the iPhone OS 4.0 for my iPhone 3gs, as I can’t justify paying $125 more for the entry level iPad than I did for my Linux netbook which can do more. Hey, I’ve waited a few years for this, what’s a few more months? Can’t wait! How extensive is the catalog? I wish you could browse the iBook store from iTunes to get an idea of that. Also, do you know what kind of DRM if any are on the iBooks Epub files?
Great to hear how accessible it is, not that I’d expect anything less from Apple. They continue, yet again, to prove that they know what true accessibility means.
